C. World Trade Centre II, Jakarta
The elegant geometry and simple design vocabulary of the World Trade Centre II landscape complements the striking architectural form and materials of the new building
This sophisticated sequence of external spaces complies with strict structural constraints and meets demanding environmental standards.
Throughout the drop-off area, a surface of granite setts is interspersed with shining strips of stainless steel and complemented by reflecting pools lined with polished black granite. This palette of materials continues at the podium level, where a formal grid of Ketapang Kencana trees, each planted within a stainless steel planter, creates an attractive, shady garden subdivided by straight paths, clipped hedges and neat beds of groundcover. Occasionally the geometry of the grid opens out to create intimate 'rooms', with timber 'wave' benches to encourage meeting, chatting and people watching.
