Biotechnology Research Park, Cibinong.

A concept masterplan for a 42 ha site on the campus of the Indonesian Institute of Science. The aim was to create a model for sustainable development, combining the functions of biotechnology and park.

From the lakeside Visitors' Centre, Pocket Farm and exhibition area, visitors can choose to wander through the dappled shade of the plantation or along winding paths at the valley side. The Collection Gardens are focal points of interest throughout and a diagonal path cuts across the plantation grid to a dramatic circular children's playground overlooking the river. A curving spine road leads to a future new Exhibition & Convention Centre to the south. These new buildings are tucked on the edge of woodlands with views across sweeping grasslands to a new lake and gravel beach on the valley floor. A viewing tower is another popular attraction. The research facilities are concentrated to the north of the site, where Experimental Gardens and new research and administrative buildings complement the existing layout.
