A co-ordinated design vision for the public realm surrounding this busy office complex in Jakarta, which aims to improve the functionality, and distinctive character of the Metropolitan Complex, resolving gateway, parking and circulation issues, integrating a new building and developing positive relationships with the wider townscape
Our sketch proposals are governed by some core design principles:
- develop a user-friendly, welcoming environment with a clear, legible pattern of circulation
- minimise clutter, simplify the hierarchy of routes and develop zones of Shared Space, where vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists can co-exist
- develop a unified palette of hard and soft landscape materials which expresses the distinctive character of the complex
- adopt a sustainable approach, using indigenous plants and high quality, long lasting materials
